Outpatients’ services across England are under immense stress, ever-increasing waiting lists and significant breaches of the 52-week threshold. To restore flow and improve patient care, The Countess of Chester NHS Foundation Trust is working alongside Medefer to reduce its current backlog in gastroenterology.
Medefer is a virtual healthcare outpatient service designed to support NHS partners in significantly reducing patient waiting times which creates a more sustainable outpatient service. GP referrals are responded to within 48 hours, patients are reviewed and managed virtually by a team of NHS consultants, resulting in better outcomes and more effective delivery of care at a local and system level.
Self-referral For Local Services
Most referrals to other specialists will require you seeing or speaking with a GP, however there are a number of services that you are able to make self-referrals to.
