L.I.F.T.S. - Patient Information
L.I.F.T.S. is an organisation comprising volunteers who own a car and are willing to spare a few hours a month to drive elderly and infirm patients of Frodsham, Helsby and Elton surgeries to their hospital out-patient appointments. We are independent of the National Health Service and have been in existence for about 15 years.
Aim of Service
To provide car transport for elderly patients and others in need of special support to and from their hospital out-patient appointments. To accompany them to the hospital waiting room and sit with them but not attend their consultation unless particularly requested.
Those patients who would otherwise require the ambulance service for their out-patient department appointment. We are unable to take wheelchairs. Carer / spouse / relative may accompany the patient (1 additional passenger only). Please ask at your Surgery Reception if you are unsure whether you qualify.
